LIVE Webcast - Transworld Riders Poll Awards
Posted by: Alex | Thursday, January 31, 2008Lion vs. Hyena = Regular vs. Goofy!
Posted by: Travis | Wednesday, January 30, 2008The first time I saw this video I thought how sad and terrible for the Hyena's, just like how sad and terrible it's gonna be for the Goofy team.
In defense of the Goofy team, it does look like there are twice as many Regular riders as there are Goofy riders entered for the contest. What's the old saying, "Quality over quantity"?
Frbruary 23, Snow GvR. Mark your calendars.
ThirtyTwo Partners with Bear Mountain!
Posted by: Travis | Tuesday, January 29, 2008
ThirtyTwo presents the exclusive Bear Mountain Boot and presents etnies GvR Snow. Ghostface Killah will also be laying down the law at GvR, so be sure to witness the Killah!
This winter, ThirtyTwo collaborated with Bear Mountain to create an exclusive park staff-only colorway of the Lashed boot.
This boot is so mind boggling that we wanted to drop a line to make sure that witnessing this boot doesn't make you forget about etnies GvR Snow contest at Bear Mountain. We will be bringing the best professional snowboarders aligned by stance, Goofy and Regular, together to battle on February 23, 2008! Ghostface Killah, an original member of Wu-Tang Clan, will be performing at the base of Bear Mountain on the sun deck at the end of the contest.

Men's Fitness etnies / ThirtyTwo Spread!
Posted by: Travis | Friday, January 18, 2008
We just received an advanced copy of the February issue of Men’s Fitness. Guess what? We are in it! That's right our boys rocked the mountains of New Zealand and took along some of MF's fitness guru's to see if we were legit.
This is what the first paragraph in the article has to say “…ThirtyTwo, a leading manufacturer of snowboard boots, invited MF to check out the action on a trip to New Zealand with its pro team of elite riders: Wille Yli-Luoma, Simon Chamberlain, and Markku Koski.” - I think the word "elite" is fitting, don't you?

This article is a must read, so do yourself a favor and pick up a copy when it hits shelves.

Staale Sandbech goes to the BEO!
Posted by: Travis | Thursday, January 10, 2008!

- Staale dropin' them cliffs like a man!
After the Evolution Contest in Davos, Ståle made his way to Laax, Switzerland, where he will be jibbing the BEO contest.
Before the Slopestyle Junior contest started yesterday, Ståle got some warm up pow-pow gnar-gnar with his friend Trym Noorgard. Nothing like some freshies to get you ready for some kickers and pipe.
Cross your fingers for Ståle tomorrow and on Saturday for the junior’s Slopestyle and Halfpipe contests. We’ll keep you posted.

Brighton Lashed Boot!
Posted by: Travis | Tuesday, January 8, 2008
Check out the boots the park crew is rocking next time you are shredding Brighton – they can’t be found anywhere else! ThirtyTwo recently collaborated with Brighton to create an exclusive park, staff-only, colorway of the Lashed boot. Known for its amazing powder, Brighton boasts more than 500 inches of snow each winter on its 1,050 ride-able acres, which features four parks and a pipe.
The Lashed is ThirtyTwo’s most popular boot for a reason: it dominates the park, pipe and backcountry. This skate-styled model was created by the premiere boot brand for snowboarders around the world who want to ride at the highest level.
Euro Team Update!
Posted by: Travis | Monday, January 7, 2008
The O’Neil Evolution contest went down in Davos. The contest included a superpipe highest air contest, superpipe contest and the quarterpipe contest.
Our boys in Davos included: Markku Koski, Miikka Hast, Mario Kappeli, Thomas Harstad, Ståle Sandbech and UK rider Dan Wakeham.
Markku was invited for both the Superpipe contest and the quarterpipe contest. The rest of the team had to qualify. Thomas and Miikka both were a bit unlucky and didn’t make the cut. But Mario Käppeli qualified first in his heat. Dan Wakeham made the cut as well and Ståle Sandbech was the youngest rider to advance to the semifinals.

- Thomas and Staale
Unfortunately Ståle , Mario and Dan didn’t make the finals on Friday, but props to Ståle for being the youngest rider and still ripping the pipe.
Markku showed some smooth riding during the finals jam session and placed 5th. Fact is, Markku was one of the most stylish and smoothest riders of the evening. Congrats Markku.
Saturday evening was time for the quarterpipe contest. Markku wasn’t really stoked on riding a 10 meter high junk of ice, but he tried his best and ended up in 10th place in the qualification and therefore didn’t make it into the final.

It was a fun weekend though and our boys showed some serious skills - during the contest and at the afterparty. ;)
While Davos was the big TTR event in Europe, the Nanshan Open was held in China. Our ambassadors there were Jakob Wilhelmson and Fredrick Austbö. Jakob was rocking the spot and won China’s one and only TTR contest. Congratulations Jakob. He convinced the judges with smooth 7’s and 5’s and took over 1st place. Fredrick didn't have lady luck on his side and ended up on 9th place.
Check out more details and photos HERE.
Congratulations boys. What a weekend!
Next stop for most of the guys will be the European Open , which will take place January 11th - 18th in Laax, Switzerland.
By the way, it’s dumping again in Europe. So enjoy the snow and take care!
