etnies bouncer

Hangin' out in Laguna Beach last weekend and some altercations went down between drunk people. Road cones got thrown at cars, bouncers got crazed, cops arrived, and I snapped a photo of this dude with an etnies shirt while the police lights blazed. Oh, the drama!

Team Update!

Hey, there! It’s Europe speaking! We are still in need of snow! While it finally got cold in the north (Scandinavia and Finland are reporting–20 degrees Celsius), Mid-Europe is still hoping for the big dump! But well, what can we do...Let’s wait and see!

Danny Larsen just got voted European Snowboard Rockstar of the Year! But nevertheless, he doesn't rest, and is busy filming with the Pirates! He just visited the thirtytwo booth at ISPO and headed to Flachau, Austria afterwards to film with the Pirates and do a photoshoot with the German MBM crew! Danny will also have an interview in the next issue of the Czech Free magazine.

After a short stop in Munich, Germany, for ISPO, Jaakko Säppäla went to Canada to start filming with the Whiteout Crew. He's stoked to finally experience the real winter after our messy weather conditions here in Europe.

French rider Remi Lamazouere just got back from a trip to Colorado and is now riding in France again. He said they had great conditions in the states, and he crosses his fingers for some nice snow in France now!

Tina Ramholt is just recovering from some stretched ligaments in her knee. But she will be back riding soon. She's planning on heading to the US open and the Roxy Chicken Jam.

Cuca Aranda is just preparing her first girls camp in Spain. Besides that, she started studying last fall and is riding in the Pyrenees.

Our little grom Staale Sandbech, 12 years old, from Norway just places fourth at the Burton European Open Pipe contest in the age category from 6-13. After the BEO he headed on to Livigno/ Italy to compete in the World Rookie Fest, where he won the slopestyle contest for the groms. Congratulations Staale!

Thomas Harstad just got back from Japan. He's been filming with the MMP crew down there, and enjoyed the crazy amount of powder! Now he's back in Europe, filming with the MMP's and waiting for good snow!

Andreas Moen just scored his second cover of the season. After a cover on a Chinese snowboard magazine, he now got his second cover on a Russian mag. Congratulations Andreas. Andreas is filming with the Pirates again this season.

Team Report!

Global warming is in full effect but that’s not going to stop the etnies/32 team. Here’s a quick glance at what our riders are up to.

Fredrik Austbo gets back in the swing of competing and snowboarding everyday. He recently competed in the O'Neill Pro-Freestyle event in Avoriaz, France (February 3, 2007). Placing 7th in the quarter pipe event. He said his knee is feeling super solid and he’s stoked to get his shred on. Freddy will be heading out to the states to start filming with Standard Films crew and hopes to spend most of his season traveling all over North America.

Dustin Craven has been on a mission ever since the season has started. He’s been on the road filming with the rest of the Capita crew hitting up spots all over Calgary and the Interior BC. Who knows where he’ll end up with in the next several days. Maybe in your neck of the woods. Speaking of Dustin, stay tuned for his new interview and team page!

John Jackson headed straight to Whistler after the X Games to get back into filming and shooting photos. He’ll be heading to the secret spot some time this week to explore and continue filming then off to the interior BC to put in his time with the Heli.

Markku Koski was feeling great and doing well at the X Games but during his first run of the qualifying round, his binding completely blew out causing him to slam into the second wall of the pipe. It was pretty unexpected and Markku took it like a champ. He said he suffered a charley horse to his upper leg but that didn’t stop him. He had the binding strap replaced and went straight up to the top of the pipe. After taking his second run he missed the final by a few points. Better luck next time Markku.

Shortly after the X Games, Markku and Stian Solberg ventured out to Southern Colorado to film for the Stepchild team video and shoot photos. They managed to get in a few good days of hiking and building kickers. Be sure to check out the teaser!

On a mission... Tyler Lepore has been busy filming with the Capita crew. You can peep the teaser here. Tyler will be heading to Mt. Baker for the Legendary banked slalom this weekend. Speaking of being on a mission, Tyler and a few others will be making their way to an exclusive area sometime in the near future. The plans have been put in place but as long as the stars are aligned they’ll be on a mission. More info to come as their plans come together.

The injured list...

Janna Meyen reported two torn ligaments in her ankle and a badly bruised bone. While practicing her switch 900’s at Keystone, Janna took a flat landing on her back foot causing an uncomfortable pain which took her out of the X Games. She reported positive feelings and will be concentrating on physical therapy for the next few months. Good luck Janna! Keep up the PMA!

Hamp-man or shall I say Hampus Mosesson gave it his all during the 11th winter X Games. Hampus didn’t quite make the podium but he definitely showed the world he was capable of handling any kind of obstacle. He’s back in Salt Lake City, UT planning a route to head to Tahoe or Canada where he’ll be filming with Mack Dawg.

Multi-Tasker Leanne Pelosi is keeping herself quite busy these days. After placing 6th in the women’s slope style at the X games she bounced back to Whistler where she went right into filming and shooting photos for her film project, Runway films. Later this weekend she’ll be heading to the Legendary Banked Slalom at Mt. Baker, WA. Be sure to check out her teaser.

Benji Ritchie will continue to film with Whiteout Films this season. He’s been on the road filming and shooting photos between Whistler and the interior BC. He’s on his way to Mt. Baker where he’ll challenge the roster of shredders hoping to knock out some of the big time players.

Back to the states...Stian Solberg made it back to California not too long ago where he purchased a brand new truck (Nissan Titan) and drove straight out to Utah to pick up his brothers sled. He met up with Markku Koski in Aspen and shortly after the X games drove to Southern Colorado to start filming and shooting photos. He’s back in Utah at the moment waiting for news on the latest conditions. Once again, be sure to check out the Stepchild teaser.

The Great Northwest is where Wille Yli-Luoma can be found. Wille’s been back and forth from Mt. Baker to Portland clocking in some mileage. He’ll be headed to Mt. Baker for the banked slalom along with the rest of the North west crews. He’s been working on getting his work visa renewed so he’ll be heading up to Canada some time next week to meet with officials. It’s also Wille’s birthday Friday February 9th, Happy Birthday Wille!

That’s it for now. Till next time, pray for SNOW!

Kona, Hawaii's favorite sons make their long-awaited Atlantic/East West Records debut with their fourth studio album, No Shame. It's a bold artistic leap forward for the Island-born-and-bred, California-based trio. No Shame defines what Pepper is all about.

"No Shame is different from the other albums we've done because we had so much artistic freedom," says singer-guitarist Kaleo Wassman. "We had plenty of room to explore the range of possibilities of the band, which was so much fun to do."

With the band's trademark penchant for the musically unpredictable firmly in place, No Shame is indeed a tasty and rewarding blend of styles and sounds unlike anything Pepper has recorded before. The 18-track collection, which was recorded over the better part of a year, in a variety of SoCal studios with no less than 4 producers, is triumphant culmination of months of hard work that began on the road in the summer of 2005.

To celebrate the release of No Shame, etnies and Pepper are teaming up to give you some free goodies. Fill out the form for your chance to win a free pair of etnies, a Pepper CD and a Pepper T-shirt! Good luck!
