Dog Doodie!

Exhibit B

Very frequently, I walk from one building to another here at the etnies compound for meetings and such. This week, for some odd reason, I've had to evade multiple piles of dog feces while walking around because, contrary to popular belief, I don't like smelling like poop or having any sort of butt mud on my shoes.

After careful investigation and interrogation of many fellow etnies employees, I discovered one mound of poop belongs to Booger, a female mutt owned by ex moto pro-turned X Games announcer, Cameron Steele.

Exhibit A shows the debris left behind by Booger, while the origin of Exhibit B has yet to be identified, however, a ruler has been included in the photo for scaling purposes.

What's the significance of all this? nothing really, poop is just funny and its been a slow news day.

Summer Snow Report?!

John Jackson

Summer's in full effect people! Here's a quick update on what the ThirtyTwo/etnies snow teams are up to.
John Jackson and his brother Eric took some time to chill out in So. Cal golfing, surfing and causing some havoc. They're back home in Mammoth recouping from their three-week vacation. Word has it that both the Jackson's have pretty banging shots in Standard Films new movie called Paradox. Be sure to check ThirtyTwo for premiere dates and a sneak preview.

Markku Koski went under the knife for the second time on his shoulder. He's doing well and back in action. It was a quick surgery and recovery for Markku since he already knew what to do. He's been skating and attending his physical therapy everyday. He'll be heading to Canada to chill out with his girlfriend for the better part of July. He may extend his visit and head to the states for the premiere of Paradox in early September.

tyler
Tyler!

Tyler Lepore has been one heck of a busy rabbit. He's been working on his artwork and graphics for his snowboard as well as wrenching away on his new motorcycle. Ty's been working with a few friends better known as the "Human-Five." A collaboration of artist working together to put on art shows around Vancouver. Tyler along with Wille Yli-Luoma will be showcasing some of their fine art work sometime next month. Check back soon for further details.

Janna Meyen coming off a successful season was recently nominated for an ESPY award. Votes are in and the winner will be revealed later this month. Keep your fingers crossed for Janna.

benji
Benji gets busy

Leanne Pelosi and Alexis Waite have been coaching at the MGT snowboard camp in Whistler all week. Sorry dudes.... this camp is only for girls so back off. Alexis took home a little bit of cash at the Abominable Snow Jam last month at Mt. Hood nabbing second place in the slopestyle event.

Benji Ritchie is in Europe right now attending some of the summer camps in France and touring around with his other sponsors. He recently spent the month of June in Costa Rica catching up on his surf and soaking up the sun. Benji will be returning from Europe next week to chill out and visit some of his family in Montreal.

Wille Yli-Luoma is pretty much settled in at his new pad in Portland, Oregon. He's been busy getting ready for an art show scheduled sometime in August. He's also getting ready to be the guest coach ad High Cascade Snowboard Camp later this month for a full session (July 28-August 4).

Corey flyer

Corey Smith will be having a little art show in Portland July 16th. If you're in the neighborhood come by and check it out.

That's about it for now. Be sure to check back for more details on the art show, movie premieres and other juicy gossip.

Good thing our soles are grippy!

This is a protester who is most likely about to get beat down for pulling down the fence at the G8 Summit in Scotland. Notice the kicks...guess the etnies model shoe he's wearing and you win a free pat on the back.

2003 AIR GUITAR WORLD CHAMPION - David “C-Diddy” Jung

The U.S. Air Guitar championships are coming. This is an annual event where these grown men put away their Spock uniforms, Star Wars toys and Dungeons and Dragons dice to make complete fools of themselves yet again.

Here's an excerpt from the "official rules:"

Contestants perform for one minute to a song of their choice and are judged on a combination of technical prowess, stage presence and “airness.” “What we mean by that is really that elusive quality of transcending the imitation of an art form-ie: playing guitar-and creating a new art form-air guitar.”
